I have a few ‘guys’ that I rotate in and out of my life, and they go by the names of Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Jeffrey Campbell, Brian Atwood and Alexander Wang, just to name a few. They are some of my favorite shoe designers, in case you were wondering. But since having foot surgery two months ago, I’ve had to put my main men (heels) on the back burner and find some comfortable yet stylish footwear alternatives. So when the folks at Orthaheel reached out to me, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect! They’re a self-described ‘science meets style sandal’ line and since I’ve been searching like crazy for a cute pair of shoes that will also support my recovering foot, this brand couldn’t be more perfect!
Orthaheel was launched back in 1991 by Australian podiatrist, Phillip Vasyli. He designed the brand specifically for people struggling with heel, knee, leg and lower back pain, to help them counteract the daily grind of walking on hard and unnatural surfaces. Developed with foot health in mind, the shoes feature patent pending orthotic technology helping to eliminate pain not only in your feet but in your knees, legs and lower back – with a stylish twist.
I received a pair of the Orthaheel Fiji Sandals in Ivory, and I took them with me on my recent anniversary trip to Aruba. With their beaded accents and wood-grain covered footbed, they were the perfect addition to my ‘island style’ looks and also made a great pair of beach sandals!
