When it comes to celebrity style, I have a few favorites that I like to ‘mock’. I love Rihanna’s edgy, rocker chick looks, though wearing those clothes everyday is not an option for me. I also love Kim Kardashian’s Cali-girl glam style of form-fitting dresses with sky-high heels, especially when going out to dinner or dancing. But the celebrity whose style I’m most like on a daily basis is Gwen Stefani. The No Doubt singer always exudes cool, whether she’s wearing camouflage pants and sneakers, or an African-printed dress and high-heeled booties. Her look is always age-appropriate yet she’s consistently stylish, edgy and looks incredibly chic.
To celebrate the new Crystal Light Mocktails, I was tasked with ‘mocking’ my favorite celebrity’s personal style. I came across this photo of Gwen Stefani dressed in my preferred weekend outfit – an equestrian-inspired look of a cropped blazer, jeans and riding boots. Wearing her hair in a chic top bun, she rocked the look while out with her husband Gavin Rossdale and their sons Kingston and Zuma at the Los Angeles Zoo. Gwen’s look consisted of a tartan print blazer by L.A.M.B., dark jeans and riding boots, accessorized with a red L.A.M.B. Striped Pawi Crossbody bag, oversized Prada Baroque sunnies and a signature red lip.
I ‘mocked’ the look with my own Prada Baroque sunglasses, Vanora Cricket striped jacket by Rugby Ralph Lauren, dark blue denim by James Jeans, a printed scarf, Kate Spade crossbody bag and Corso Como riding boots. I put my hair in a top bun and added a red lip like Gwen’s to complete the look.
