Best face forward: Clinique Redness Solutions Instant Relief Mineral Powder
I was really intrigued by Clinique‘s new ‘Redness Solutions’ Instant Relief Mineral Powder. It is all-natural and mild, yet powerful enough to be used to combat redness from mild rosacea and break-outs.
When Saks Fifth Avenue had its latest Clinique bonus, I decided to give it a try. This powder is great! It comes with an anti-bacterial brush, and is very versatile. Can be worn over make-up, on bare skin, under make-up, however works for you. The powder is very light, goes on invisibly, and instantly diffuses redness. Skin feels cool, healthy, and clear.

Haute Topic: Kings and Queens of Pop (and Bling)
This week we’re paying homage to Michael Jackson – the man, the mystery, the music legend, humanitarian and fashion innovator and icon. Jackson’s unique sound and dance moves may have put him on the map, and his philanthropic efforts kept him there but it was really his fashion sense that really made him stand out and made us take notice. Early on he set trends with prepster looks (like his yellow cardigan and bowtie during the Human Nature era); colorful zippered leather jackets (a la Thriller), then later, sparkly socks and that single jeweled glove. Blinged out military-style...

Celebrating Michael Jackson – the music, humanitarian and fashion icon
The loss of Michael Jackson shook the world on Thursday. Michael Jackson the entertainer not only impacted the music world in tremendous ways, he was also a global humanitarian, lending his support to 39 charity organizations either with monetary donations through project sponsorships. He received recognition in the 2000 edition of the Guiness Book Of World Records for breaking the world record for the “Most Charities Supported By a Pop Star”. Despite media allegations, Michael Jackson loved all children, and took time out while touring to secret visting sick children and even had...

Going gaga for green…nails? Chanel’s Jade polish is coming soon
We thought we’ve seen every nail color known to man (or woman) but Chanel recently anonounced that it’s going green this Fall. Not eco-friendly, but the actual color green. It’s releasing Peter Philips‘ (Creative Director of Chanel Makeup) Jade Green nail polish from its Fall 2009 collection as a limited-edition this October. If green nails sound horrid to you, don’t worry, it sounded that way to us too but once we saw the bottle we were sold! The highly coveted minty green shade will be joined by a Jade Rose shade as well (wonder what that will look like?) and we...

No frills: Loeffler Randall’s Sybil flat
While shoe shopping at Loehmann’s this afternoon, I came across the perfect flat – the Loeffler Randall ‘Agatha’, a soft black leather shoe with an awesomely chic studded bow on the side. It’s just the type of shoe I’ve been dying to find and I found it, in my size! I was ecstatic, until I discovered I could only find the left shoe – the right shoe had mysteriously disappeared.
So I did what any hard-working fashion editor would do – I kicked up and kicked off my heels at home and searched online to find my flat. And I found it at Revolve Clothing...

We’re all very familiar with the label that is full of colorful, intricate tattoo prints branded on everything from apparel to accessories to footwear and swimwear. Artistic collages of glittering rhinestones, skulls, and blooming florals represent the fiery prints of master tattoo artist Don Ed Hardy that have been masterfully executed by Christian Audigier. The “One Dress” Angelina Jolie wants
What would you do if you got a call from Angelina Jolie who wanted to puurchase one of your fabulous designs? Would you think it was a prank call? Well that’s exactly what happened to designer Malcolm Harris, of Mal Sirrah, Inc. (Sirrah is Mr. Harris’s last name spelled in reverse as well as his “alter ego”).
Page Six reports that he hung up on the actress/Goodwill ambassador not once, but twice, thinking it was a prankster. Turns out it was actually Jolie calling to buy three of his “One-Dress” for an upcoming event. (She convinced him after explaining they were...

Fight blemishes with Neutrogena’s skin clearing foundation
OMG ladies! We all know about blemishes and how they seem to make it to the center of face from time to time.
Well, from someone that has experimented a lot with skin clearing products, I have come to the conclusion that Neutrogena Skin Clearing Foundation is the the utmost best for those undesirable bumps! The pros are that it’s an oil-free, hypoallergenic make-up that not only produces a great matte finish, but also contains a low concentration of 0.5% Salicylic acid to help treat skin blemishes. Did I mention your pores look insanely smaller? Well they do! This products is just heaven...

The CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) awards are all about honoring and recognizing the most talented designers in the fashion industry, but the real fashion winners and losers at the 2009 awards were seen arriving to the event.
Two of the night’s fashion ‘winners’ were Claire Danes and Kerry Washington, who both opted for full-length gowns with plunging necklines. Haute or Not: Christopher Kane’s ‘Gorilla’ dress
Inspired by “Planet of the Apes” (of all things), Christopher Kane took the jungle and put it onto his Spring 2009 runway. Add to that a little dash of “The Flintstones”, Raquel Welch in “One Million Years B.C.”, and then Dian Fossey and her gorillas, said the designer. The result? Gory gold-fanged apes, monkeys, mandrills and gorillas printed on scalloped, avant garde dresses and oversized black tees (which are available for purchase online at LUISAVIAROMA.COM). Already worn by Kristen Stewart (“Twilight”) and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, (daughter...

Bullets 4 Peace makes peace out of war
No matter what your political stance, we all have to have hope that something good will come from war, whether or not we believe it to be necessary or unnecessary. Designer Rafi Anteby used his experience serving four years in the Israeli army to create tangible symbols of peace through his jewelry line, Bullets 4 Peace.
After losing all the men in his platoon including his best friend, he was sparked with a desire to use bullet casings that lay in the fields for a much deeper purpose than just being used as ammunition. Rafi then spent two years in China to become a monk where he also learned the...
