Le Whif makes it ok to inhale…chocolate, that is

There are three things that I just can’t get enough of. Shopping is one of them. Chocolate is another. The third? Well, let’s just leave that up to the imagination…

But back to chocolate…I’m an absolute chocoholic so it’s the ultimate in guilty pleasures for me, though not necessarily the best dietary option. Especially if you’re on a diet, although there are all sorts of diet-friendly chocolate products on the market to satisfy those cravings, including low-fat chocolate cakes and sugar-free chocolate candies, along with chocolate-flavored appetite-curbing drinks and supplements. But did you ever think you could inhale chocolate to get your low-fat fix? A new product called Le Whif offers a revolutionary new way to have your proverbial (chocolate) cake, without actually eating it. And without the calories too. What looks like a colorful asthma inhaler is actually a chocolate-sniffing apparatus priced at €9.95 each, that comes in four flavors: mint chocolate, raspberry chocolate, mango chocolate, and plain chocolate.

 

 

 

Harvard professor David Edwards, lead inventor of Le Whif, says:
“Over the centuries we’ve been eating smaller and smaller quantities at shorter and shorter intervals. It seemed to us that eating was tending toward breathing, so, with a mix of culinary art and aerosol science, we’ve helped move eating habits to their logical conclusion. We call it whiffing.”

Edwards went on to say that inhaled chocolate is just the start – he and his team at Foodlab at Le Laboratoire in Paris are also developing other “culinary innovations that let you eat while breathing.” So you can skip the candy bar and have a whiff of chocolate.

American Apparel “Le Sac” Dress

Despite their attention-grabbing advertisements, I never really “got” the hype behind American Apparel, therefore I’ve never shopped there. But this weekend, out on a shopping trip in SoHo with my sister who just had to have a pair of the slit jersey leggings, I finally made my way in, and liked what I saw. Sure American Apparel is full of basics like tees, tanks and leggings that are just slightly overhyped, but there were plenty of other precious gem that I wanted to take home with me. One of which was the American Apparel Le Sac Dress, which I bought, in magenta.

The dress was quite a find - it’s actually six dresses in one - possibly more if you’re feeling creative, and recessionly-priced at $38. You can wear it a variety of ways depending on your mood or the occasion - one-shoulder and suspender style are my faves - and it’s one size fits all so any gal, small to large and anywhere in-between, can rock it. You can play dress up with one of American Apparel’s many accessories, like Le String or add your own favorite dressing. Whatever you choose, this dress, (or dresses) is a summer must-have.

Quick and easy eyes with Pop Beauty Eye Class sets

While I enjoy playing with make-up, trying new looks and experimenting, I know that many of you just want to get your make-up applied…and fast! If quick and easy make-up is your goal, then you have to check out Pop Beauty. I recently purchased the Pop Beauty Eye Class set for blue eyes. In one fold-over clutch, I had everything (including a brush!) to create multiple eye make-up looks. The clutch contains three small sections of shadows, and you mix and match a shade from each section to use as your lid color, crease color, and liner. Voila…you’re done!

Now, there are enough shades to change up you look each day, the kit is super affordable, and you can just toss it into your handbag and go. Even if you are a make-up maven like myself, there are just days when you don’t have the time, and a convenient kit like this comes in handy. I think for $16, it is a steal, however, the quality isn’t superb. If you love luxurious brushes and shadows, you may not fall in love with this kit, however, it serves its purpose when you are in a rush. Also, I think it’s a great kit for younger girls just starting out with make-up, as everything is color matched for your eye color.
