I’m not a huge fan of Bottega Veneta’s woven bags, since I’ve seen so many cheap knock-off’s being sold on every street corner. If you been to New York, you know that you see so many fake bags that it just about makes you despise the real ones. (Like the Marc Jacobs Stam, the Chloe Paddington, Chanel, Coach and Louis Vuitton everything). I hate the fact that knock-offs taint my love for the real thing. Anyway, I discovered an-anti knock-off Bottega bag that I absolutely adore. The simply titled ‘Pleated Bag’ uses Bottega Veneta’s signature woven leather in a novel way. I love the ruched leather body that makes it difficult to even establish it as a Bottega Veneta, minus the few peek-a-boo pleats. The basic shape would typically be a bore, but this bag is full of Italian personality.
Available at NeimanMarcus.com, $3,520.
