Several weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending the Women United in Philanthropy’s Third Annual Awards Luncheon honoring philanthropic women who have made a significant, lasting impact on their communities. The luncheon featured a keynote by Diane von Furstenberg who spoke about her life and offered words of hope and encouragement to other women. Her speech was short and sweet. And so was the DvF dress she was wearing. So of course I had to search for it immediately. Combining my love of butterflies against a crisp black and white palette, the Ayana Dress (in Flying Butterfly) is a must-have. The details: a boatneck top, wide short sleeves and a silk crepe/Lycra blend that drapes beautifully. Put this on your shopping list right now – it’s adorable! Though we can’t promise you’ll look as cute as Diane.
$365, Diane von Furstenburg

Unfortunately, I could never afford this dress, but it is incredibly beautiful. I adore butterflies as well, and you’re right–they look amazing in black and white!
Awesome pick, Ehmonie!

Just clicked on the Saks Fifth Avenue ad on the right, and apparently Diane von Furstenburg has another dress in the same pattern that might be better for curviver girls like me.
It’s called the “Greer Wrap Silk Dress” and has a v-neck and tie belt. (It’s also $365.00.)
I tried to post a picture, but perhaps I should leave that to the pros! 🙂
